Italy Serie A
Football
Italian football offers far more betting possibilities than simply predicting whether Inter Milan, AC Milan, Juventus, Napoli or Roma will win their next match. Serie A betting markets can cover everything from the final result and total goals to player performances, live betting and season-long predictions.
Whatever you want to bet on, the price matters. Oddsator helps you compare Serie A odds across multiple bookmakers, making it easier to see where the most competitive price is available for the same selection.
Finding a Serie A bet you like is only part of the process. Before placing it, there is another question worth answering:
Which bookmaker offers the best odds?
Bookmakers set their prices independently. As a result, two football betting sites can offer different odds on precisely the same outcome.
Oddsator brings those prices together for comparison. A simple approach is:
Match → Market → Selection → Compare odds
Perhaps you are interested in Juventus to win, Over 2.5 Goals in a Napoli match or Inter Milan to score first. Once you have identified your selection, comparing bookmakers lets you see whether a better price is available elsewhere.
Oddsator does not accept the bet itself. It is an odds comparison service designed to help you evaluate the available prices before choosing a bookmaker.
Why bother comparing Serie A betting odds if the differences sometimes look small?
Because the price determines your potential return.
Suppose you want to place €25 on the same Serie A selection. One bookmaker offers decimal odds of 2.10 and another offers 2.25.
At 2.10, a successful €25 wager produces a total return of €52.50. At 2.25, it returns €56.25.
The prediction is identical. The stake is identical. The conditions for winning the bet are identical. The difference comes entirely from the odds.
This is why we think comparison is useful even when the difference between bookmakers initially appears modest. If a higher price is available for an equivalent selection, accepting shorter odds unnecessarily reduces the potential return.
One of the most familiar Serie A betting markets is 1X2, also called Full-Time Result.
There are three possible selections: 1 represents the home team, X represents the draw and 2 represents the away team. A Derby della Madonnina between AC Milan and Inter Milan, for example, could therefore be approached by backing either Milan club to win or by predicting that the game ends level.
The simplicity of 1X2 also makes it particularly suitable for odds comparison.
If several bookmakers are offering odds on the same home win, draw and away win, you can compare their respective prices directly. You are not trying to discover which bookmaker will predict the result correctly. You are looking for the strongest available price on the outcome you have already chosen.
Serie A betting extends well beyond 1X2.
Totals, commonly presented as Over/Under markets, allow you to predict the number of goals rather than the winner. A line might be set at 2.5 goals, for example. Over requires at least three goals, while Under succeeds if the game contains two or fewer.
Handicap betting approaches a match differently. A virtual advantage or disadvantage is applied to a team before the result is evaluated for betting purposes. This changes the conditions of the wager and can provide alternative prices when the standard match-winner odds do not interest you.
There can also be markets for corners, which team scores first and the result of the first half.
When comparing these markets, always check the exact selection. Over 2.5 Goals and Over 3.5 Goals may sound similar, but they are obviously not equivalent bets. The highest number on the screen is only relevant when the underlying conditions are the same.
Not every Serie A wager has to be decided in one afternoon or evening. Outright markets let you take a longer-term view of Italian football.
The obvious example is the Scudetto. Instead of predicting the result of one fixture, you are backing a club to finish the season as Serie A champion.
Bookmakers can reach different conclusions when pricing the title contenders. If you have already decided which club you want to back, comparing outright odds lets you find the available prices before committing to the bet.
Similar markets can focus on where teams finish in the table, including qualification for European competition.
At the other end of the standings, bookmakers can offer Serie A relegation odds. These markets concern which clubs will drop into Serie B and can move considerably as results change the relegation battle during the season.
Italian football has its own familiar term for the league's leading goalscorer: the capocannoniere.
Top goalscorer betting allows you to predict which player will finish ahead of everyone else in the scoring standings. It is another long-term market where prices can vary between bookmakers.
Rather than automatically backing your chosen striker at your usual betting site, you can compare the available top scorer odds first.
These markets can also evolve significantly during a season. Goals, injuries and playing time can all influence how the market develops, so the price available early in the campaign may look very different later.
Some betting markets focus on individual events rather than the overall outcome of the match.
Serie A specials can include predictions concerning penalties, yellow cards and individual goalscorers. This can be useful if your analysis points towards a particular aspect of a match rather than which team will ultimately collect the points.
Special markets also demonstrate why good odds comparison requires more than simply scanning for the biggest number.
Bookmakers may use different lines or settlement conditions. Before comparing two prices, make sure both relate to exactly the same outcome. Once you have established that, you can make a meaningful comparison between the odds.
Serie A odds do not stop changing when the referee blows the whistle for kick-off. In-play markets allow betting to continue while the action unfolds.
This makes live odds comparison different from checking prices several hours before a game.
Imagine that Roma start a match as favourites but concede an early goal. The probability implied by their odds can change dramatically. As the score, time remaining and match situation develop, bookmakers continue adjusting their live prices.
Serie A live odds can therefore be compared while games are in progress.
However, speed matters. A live price can change between the moment you see it and the moment you try to place your bet. Markets can also be temporarily suspended during significant incidents.
For that reason, live odds should always be treated as dynamic rather than fixed prices.
You can also structure Serie A bets in different ways.
A single is the simplest: one selection determines the outcome of the wager.
An accumulator combines multiple selections. The individual odds are combined to produce a larger overall price, but the selections generally all need to win for the accumulator to succeed.
A Lucky 15 is built from four selections and contains 15 separate bets, including singles and different multiple combinations.
Odds comparison is particularly interesting when building accumulators because individual prices are multiplied. If one bookmaker repeatedly offers shorter prices on your selections, the difference can become more visible in the final combined odds.
Of course, higher combined odds also reflect the additional challenge of predicting several outcomes correctly.

Finding the highest Serie A odds and identifying the most likely outcome are two different tasks.
Suppose you want to back Inter Milan and find odds of 2.15 with one bookmaker and 2.30 with another. The 2.30 price offers a higher potential return if Inter wins.
It does not mean Inter is more likely to win simply because you selected the bookmaker offering 2.30.
Oddsator helps with price comparison. Your job as the bettor is still to decide whether the selection itself makes sense.
This distinction is important when discussing betting value. The highest available odds on a particular outcome can be preferable to accepting a lower price on the identical selection, but that does not guarantee that the wager is a good one – or that it will win.
It is easy to become accustomed to using one betting site for every wager. But that approach means you are effectively accepting whatever odds that bookmaker decides to offer.
We prefer to reverse the process.
Start with the match. Decide which market interests you. Identify your selection. Then compare bookmakers.
Perhaps you want Napoli to win, Juventus to score more than a certain number of goals or an AC Milan player to finish as capocannoniere. Whatever the selection, comparing the market first prevents bookmaker loyalty from determining the price you receive.
Bonuses and promotions can also be worth considering, but they should not distract from the underlying odds. A special offer does not automatically mean that the bookmaker provides the most competitive price for your chosen Serie A bet.
Serie A offers plenty to explore for football bettors. You can compare traditional 1X2 odds, totals and handicaps, look at live prices as matches unfold or take a longer view through Scudetto, top scorer and relegation markets.
Across all of them, one principle remains consistent:
Different bookmakers can offer different prices for the same outcome.
Odds comparison cannot tell you which Serie A selection will win. What it can tell you is whether another available bookmaker is offering a better price for the selection you already want to make.
With Oddsator, you can compare those Serie A betting odds in one place and make price part of your decision before placing a wager.
